It was pitch dark when the squal hit the Spalax
last night at 11 pm. It suddenly started raining buckets and was over before we
had a chance to put on our oilskins and get out some buckets of our own to
catch the rainwater. After midnight the moon came out and clear skies
returned. The wind stayed the same and we were proceeding at a good pace
towards St. Lucia. At the moment, we are 820 nautical miles from our goal.
And what did we have for breakfast, you ask? Bread, fresh from the oven, butter,
four different kinds of jam, parma ham, nutella, coffee or tea - but no fresh
fish! They are still not biting. I'll have to do something about it.
Perhaps it is also due to the relatively high speed of the
boat.
