We decided to head to the ACI Split marina for a few days to take in a few more sights and to stock up on supplies, especially drinks. They are very heavy to lug around, so when we have the chance, we load up. The first night we were about to head out when the wind piped up. Watching the boats trying to moor in crosswinds was interesting and we were glad it wasn't us having to maneuver in these close conditions. Had dinner in the touristy waterfront of Split.

The next day I took the kids with me on an adventure. I first dropped off the towels at the laundromat, and headed towards town. There was a playground and the kids wanted to play, but they saw a different set of monkey bars across the field so we went there instead. Had a refreshment ( lemon pop and orangina and a couple of ice creams) after a while at the bar that was next to the equipment. After that walked across the dry short grassed field, and found several Fig trees, with ripening fruit. So we decided to try them out. The kids climbed the trees and we ate figs fresh off of the trees! There are many fig trees in Split and they can grow very large, and be full of fruit.

We then figured out how to get the bus, and headed towards the old town. Looked for a new Italian coffee pot with no luck and had a pizza and greek salad in a basic restaurant on a side street, and played Old Maid and Go Fish with the cards I brought along. Walked around the very narrow lanes and found ourselves outside Diocletians palace where there was clean fresh water coming out of a tap. We refilled our water bottles and Pavel and I soaked our heads in the clean cold water. That really helped as it was very hot outside. There was a market there and the kids found a Chess set and insisted that I buy it, so I did.

Then off to the JOKER mall. Got the kids a few more playthings, pencils, erasers, sunblock, fresh bread etc. No luck finding a coffee maker. Got a taxi, and he kindly drove us all around until we got to an Italian home store, and found what we were looking for. Back to the marina. All tired and had dinner an board and an early night.

Today, shopping, refill gas tank of dinghy, and planning on anchoring on the north of Hvar Island for the next few days.
