Land Ho!!!
After a wild and crazy bob-sleighh ride for the
past two days I have finally sighted land, okay it may only be on the radar but
it is there......the chart plotter says so, so it must be true.We have also
had to motor the last 20 miles in after being becalmed 3 hours ago. This
has been a whole sailing season in 48 hours. Nakesa has bee behaving
beautifully and feels glad to be back at sea....she hates it when we let weed
grow on her keel.
Wind should be back on Saturday so we can visit
Palmerston Atoll...a very remote place and home to three feuding families we
hear, after that on to Nuie.
This trip has been syuprisingly tiring..I think we
had all got so settled and content in French Polynesia,,but we are now off again
and it will be lots of sailing until Fiji now. The children have re-surfaced
with more enthusiasm than ever and tonight took their first very own night watch
which they did really well, Atlantas sailing log puts mine to
shame!
Definite smudge on the outer ring (of the radar) so
I better go up top to look out, sun up soon so coffee pot must go on...have a
great Thursday everyone
Love
Nakesa
