I DO Like Mondays..

Good Morning Loyal Subjects and those from far off lands.

One trusts that you all had a pleasant weekend.  This morning you find your King bathing in sunshine, life is good, a tuna found its way on to the Royal hook last eve and the cook promises to make sashimi, sushi and kokoda for the royal yacht today. Just as well as one has been trying to run down stores as those Austalian types are reputed to conviscate much of the food when one arrives. It stems from thieir criminal backgrounds you know, they just cannot resist theiving when they meet an unsuspecting foreigner. One supposes that they must get tired of a diet of ostritch and kangaroo steaks but really, the Royal baked beans should never be touched!  Ah well, it has meant one has had to eat such things as tinned crab and foi gras with ones papdoms and pot noodle and one will be damned before letting them gettheir criminal fingers on the Royal chutneys so they have been liberally applied to everything!

Strange thing has been ones manic craving for sugar. One normallly doesnt like such things, however the royal yacht  has been scoured for jelly snakes, boiled sweets, foam fizzy things, which are really rather good and jelly beans. I think it may be the lack of alcohol, one has left only one bottle of champagne to be drunk beneath the Sydney harbour bridge on arrival and a three year old bottle of Advocat (and one is not that desperate yet).

Okay a sailing bit for you nautical types. The trade winds have well and truly run out here at 150 east (sailing blah blah) and one is subject to high pressure systems running between Australia and over New Zealand. This means lots of wind changes which in turn means one has to push buttons several times a day..and night, most inconvenient! Yesterdays plan was to reach down into  the centre of a high to find the stronger winds on the west side and jibe to reach out across them at great speed, which one has. The speed however has been a tad dissapointing and one still has 380nm to go. This also involved avoiding two reefs, 300 miles from anywhere, and so just to show off, one sailed between them, thereby claiming them for Matthew..One shall be sending the fishing boats and oil rigs forthwith.

This morning too  the King was entertained by a troop of performing dolphins which was most pleasant.

For your information the repair to the coffee pot was a success so thank goodness one didnt have to resort to instant coffee, highly unsuitable for ones new found status.....which reminds me, after a long study of 'This Is It' by that marvellous artiste and fellow King (of Pop) formerely known as Prince Michael Jackson, one would  hereby like to annouce that 'Heal the World' will be the  new National Anthem of Matthew Island. It was a close run thing with 'The Way You Make Me Feel' coming a close second but given the female subjects will be in National dress of very small bikinis to save material resources one thought that a 'green' theme would be good ..also the other just may be a liitle raunchy with all that bare flesh around..bad for discipline, dont you know!

So to my Daily Duties. one cannot sit here alll day writing when one has a Kingdom to run!

Adieu

His Royal Highness and Lord High Admiral, and Private Secretary to the King, and Royal Cook...and cleaner upperer.

King Graham
