Dear Friends
You are all, no doubt, out enjoying a wild Saturday night somewhere with drinks food , dancing and funky music whilst we motor through glassy calm seas, 200 miles south of Bermuda on our last 3 cans of beer and rumless!!!!!
I am in danger of a mutiny especially as the 32 year old Neco autopilot has failed (again) and my novice crew are most put out at having to steer!!! They also think I am responsible for the lack of wind, missing Fathers day and most other things that are bad in life!!!
There are compensations though, we showered under the boom in a squall in the rain yesterday afternoon, with the 3 of us stripped off and cheering we looked like a bad Playgirl video!! ( I bet you are all really excited just reading this!) we also have hooked and lost 2 Marlins, yesterdays was estimated at 600lbs and 12 feet as it jumped clean out of the water by the boat whilst making its escape, todays also jumped but was smaller,; we also caaught a 25lb Wahoo this morning, beautiful, but that too slipped from our grasp whilst getting it aboard..(my fault too apparently for not having a gaff).
So Bermuda on Monday we hope, okay,okay..been there done that, I know, but I have a family to meet and Phaedra Aston and Atlanta who will be waiting there from tomorrow so it will be an exciting arrival for us.
Congrats to Triple D for making it home and Andromeda for arriving safely, we look forward to cruising together next season..
...and one other wierd thing here, all of the contents of fuel tank 2 measured at 199 litres this morning ended up in tank 1 this evening which was empty this morning and had 238 litres when checked (and engine stopped).. there are wierd forces afoot here (and possibly some mis management of the fuel return valve)!!!
Oops 90 degrees off course, must go.........take care all
love Graham
