We tracked down Fixman, a Scot who lives up to his name, and he dismantled the Yanmar control system and managed to repair it. The fault (inability to get into reverse) had not been an issue as we always anchored and let the wind do the work (actually not true, but we could have done it without reverse…) We filled up with diesel and water from the floating tanker boat, the water taking ages.

We set off for St Lucia at 17:30, keen to get some night sailing.
