Having successfully fitted a new air filter to the
Volvo engine on Saturday mrning, we left Chalon-sur-Saone and retraced our steps
northwards to Seurre and then St Jean de Losne (a total of about 30
km).
We had time to change the engine oil and consult
and engineer to resolve a perplexing reading on the new battery manager I had
recently fitted. (As you may have guessed, the problem was a connection of
a negative connection which was giving a false signal to the instrument.
We moved it and it now works properly.) Having packed and cleaned the
boat, we rewarded ourselves with an evening meal at the local Auberge de
Marina, ready for an early start on the Wednesday morning.
 A combination of local train, TGV to Paris and then
Air France to Heathrow managed to get us home safely.
Our plan is to return to the boat at the beginning
of September and then continue our journey southward to Lyon and then down the
Rhone where we plan to leave Eliza B for the winter while we return
home. The next blog will be early in
September.
