Tuesday 30th August - Savona

After spending 3 pleasant days in Arenzano (and completing an oil change), we left there on Monday morning and motored further up the coast toward France (actually south-west down the coast) to Savona. Before entering the harbour, we anchored just outside off the beach and had a lunch break and a quick swim around the boat. Savona is a very old town and claims to have produced two popes in the 1500’s. The old harbour – where we are moored – is right in the middle of the old town and we had to wait for a footbridge to open to allow us in. A very quiet and peaceful spot ; so we decided to stay a second night and give us time to look around the old town and its fort. Tomorrow we will aim for Loano. Ron.
