At 0715 Triple D time (0915 British time, 0815 UTC) our position is 38:43.2N 35:22.8W. We have 7.8 knots of wind right on our bow and are going just 5 knots over the ground. It is a very grey morning. We have 311 miles to go, it has been a very slow night! These last few hundred miles seem to be going very slowly.

For the last 24 hours we have had around 8 knots of headwinds and so have been motoring very slowly into them. We have enough fuel now definitely to make it all the way to Flores, perhaps all the way to Horta, so our final destination depends solely on what the wind does over the next few days! If we are going to be beating into relatively strong winds then we will just put into Flores as the forecast looks quite nice on Sunday for making our way the extra 24 hours sail to Horta.
Very little to report from yesterday, other than with these headwinds it has got COLD. We are all very worried about how we are going to cope at home - Jilli is sleeping in her full thermals and fleecy gear. Nightshifts especially are freezing and we have taken to mainly staying inside and looking around every 10 minutes. The other night mum saw dolphins surrounding the boat - well I say she saw dolphins, she actually saw the bioluminescence they set off, so a mass of glittering water. It sounds beautiful and I'm very jealous! So last night I sat out for my whole shift hoping to see the same, but nothing. Typical.
