The half-way point!

We have been sailing since 8am yesterday morning and the wind has remained more or less constant allowing us to make relatively good speed. We still had some sort of current against us though. In the late afternoon the wind dropped off slightly so we bore away and hoisted the jenny for a few hours. Another episode of Prison Break after dinner (the verdict is that the second series is good, but not as good as the first - and Wentworth Miller is still delicious) and then we have been sailing all night. I had clear skies filled with stars and am now watching the sun rise although there does seem to be a squall directly ahead of us!!
We have just reached the half way point and now have less miles to go than we have already covered - still 905 miles though!. At 1130 Triple D time, it will be exactly one week since we left Bemuda so we are nicely on track for a 14 day crossing, not surprising seeing the lack of wind. Let's just see what this next week brings us and maybe the second week will be quicker than the first! In this first week of 'sailing' we have had the engine off for a total of 26 hours.
We have had fresh meat every day except last night where we had pasta with veg and bacon, and we still have enough meat for three meals. Two lots of vacuum packed pork and one lot of sausages. St. Georges, Bermuda, was a pretty good place to stock up and vacuum-packed meat is great. Once all the meat is gone we have about 10 different cans of M&S tinned curries (if not more) plus huge quantities of pasta with pasta sauces. We still have some veg left, and lots of other less tempting cans. I still have half a bag of twiglets left and there are some chocolate chip cookies hiding away somewhere!! So all is not too bad on the food front.
Yesterday we had several more man-o-wars, lots of dolphins, and something jumping in the distance that we thought looked like a big marlin.
The jib is flapping so I better go pull it in. Happy sailing to everyone else on the ocean!!!
