just another day

Tripled
Sat 21 May 2011 09:05
Its 0700 Triple D time (1000 British time) and our position is 36:19.3N 50:22.5W
We are motoring along at a speed of 5.4 knots over the ground, with the wind 8.3 knots from ahead. What is annoying is that our boat speed is 6.4 knots so there is a lot of current against us which we weren't expecting!

Jilli refuses to do the daily log on days where
nothing happens so I'm afraid I get to bore you all with a position update
and trying to make SOMETHING out of absolutely NOTHING!!!! (As in, today I
got up, read my book, made lunch, ate lunch, read my book, slept, we changed
the fuel, ate dinner, watched Prison Break and I'm now on night shift).
Still motoring all day but the wind is due to fill in Saturday
evening/Sunday so fingers crossed we will have enough fuel. We still have
100l in jerry cans and our tank is half full (a full tank is 350l) - it
sounds like a lot but it goes down very quickly!!!
We saw two whales today but they didn't feel like giving us a good show so
we just caught glimpses of their backs. Their motion is just so different
from that of dolphins! But they looked pretty big so I'm glad they weren't
too close.
As I'm writing this, the sky above is filled with thousands of stars and the
water is sparkling with bioluminescence as we surge through it. The only
thing now would be if the engine could be off so it could be silent!!!
