After a wonderful few days in Barbados , where lots of swimming a bit of shopping and a bit of just relaxing went on . With visits to the races and a trip around the island thanks to Wendell ( taxi driver and very charming scalliwag) . He suddenly lost interest in us when a cruise ship came in and he had a cruise ship fare . Probably worth twice ours thus we were deposited back to Bridgetown in short order. We got whiff of the N and E of the island , quite rural and very beautiful.
No visit to the rum factory was included in our itinerary as the estimated tour length of 5 hrs was a step too far for this crew .
Signing out went relatively well , slightly delayed we think by a death on a cruise ship which seemed to necessitate all immigration officers to board said ship. The Customs staff were universally charming and helpful , but an extraordinary bureaucracy with much copying.
However the delay was well used by Becks and I who managed a quick fruit and veg top up and a more relaxing visit to the super market than our previous one to a town centre one which was hectic.
We are now back at sea again heading for Grenada and our meet up with Jennie , Stuart’s wife (now scheduled for Friday 20th).
Anchor up at 0800 and motored for just over an hour to make fresh water (as well as hot water). With the rain showers coming through, the saloon is like a Chinese laundry. However a 10 to 15 knot breeze from the SE means Sw is slipping along.
All very satisfactory .
Becks and I kept up our yoga but transported it to the beach. So following a good swim ashore karma was restored on the sand . However what with our sea legs the sand appeared as wobbly as the deck !
