Getting on well , tramping along before a 18 to 20 knots north easterly, Ab Fab ! fishing not started in earnest yet but a wee squib was deposited on the deck . Sadly only one so no meal opportunity there and he was returned to the deep . We are surprised at how little bird life we have seen . Bird flu possibly ???
Music practice continues with Becky making strides on the ocorina and Bridget “saying wait for me “ and Angus on his ukulele wondering why G7 wasn’t quite where he thought it was .
Happy hour 6 to 8 in the cockpit is a fixture followed last night by Thai beef curry a la Becky .
Watches continue and we all take turns with the 2 to 4 slot never very popular . As the moon doesn’t come up until at least midnight the early watches have their draw backs too . Lots of wonderful stars though Angus attempted a Polaris site but sadly didn’t have a good enough horizon . Sun sites achieved . Nick took his first sites too and was right on the maths .
We have just passed a data acquisition bouy to starboard an interesting nav hazard particularly in the dark. While we keep pace with Sorlandet and Dolphin street on the AIS . A few other ships around as well.
Bit of battery nuerosis this morning nso making water today so we can run the engine that means hot shower day for all.
