Good Morning,

We are currently located at 9:48S 139:02W and are in the anchorage at Hiva Oa.  We arrived on March 21st 2020 in the early morning and immediately were quarantined to Sawdust, we were told 14 days and then a few days later it was changed to April 15th.  So as of today we have been on board without touching land for 28 days!

This COVID 19 virus was put a screeching halt to the world and our cruising plans.  Do to the virus many islands have closed their borders and no one can know when they may reopen so we have made the decision to go to Hawaii and put our plans on hold.  Hawaii is about 2100 nm miles away and we hope to leave no later than tomorrow morning to begin our 12 to 14 day sail.

We have been in contact with the USCG and Customs and Border Patrol in Hawaii to assure that we will not have any issues upon arrival and they have been very helpful. We are also trying to get an exemption from the 14 day mandatory quarantine upon arrival when we get to Hawaii so fingers crossed for that.

Hiva Oa is beautiful from the view of the anchorage and we are all very disappointed that after the long travel and planning and preparations we have made that we will not even be able to go ashore.  But we have to consider ourselves very fortunate that are families are all well and that we do have Hawaii as an option.

We will keep you all posted!

Love
Brent and Lisa
