On the 18th, we had an afternoon with less wind. After days of tremendous beating with 3 reefs in, we now have full main and genoa number 4. We took the opportunity to fully clean the boat, pump out all the water in the bilges (which was a lot). We also needed to make a small repair on the top of the main sail. We are now fully ready to face new challenges again.
Today we also changed the ship's clock to adjust to the new time zone. We are now 1 hour closer to you guys in Europe.

Pumping out the water with the elephant trunk was a lot of fun. Due to sexual frustrations the crew's imagination went wild while pumping, sucking and blowing the water out with this trunk. Time to get back to some families I believe ;-) At some point we wished we could modify the system so we could use it as a shower...would be nice to shower again.

next stop: the Azores to get more fuel and water. The weather looks partly promising but we will keep on heaving head winds. Morale was getting weak today. We will improve this of the weather and progress stays like this.

cheers,
Roy
