We've have a fairly busy night of sailing, then motoring, then sailing, then motoring... you get the picture. Most of the unexpected wind was land breeze - warm air falling off of the mountains to our right and being funneled out in gusts (some up to 20 knots) between the valleys.

Sunrise this morning was stunning - we've got the Sierra Nevada mountains covered in snow, which helps to explain why it's so cold! It does feel a bit like sailing at home at the moment. The sun quickly warms things up in the daytime though.
