We spent the afternoon either dodging, or failing to dodge a seamless wall of thunder storms. All very dramatic - we've had wind from nothing one minute to well over 30 knots the next, torrential rain and lots of lightning earthing around us.

It has meant we've been moving pretty quickly, and I've decided to head for Sardinia as with reasonable progress we can get there before the worst of the weather does.

At the moment we're motor sailing with the thundery stuff behind us and a very clear sky above - stunning views of the milky way. Everyone's well, and looking forward to being safely sheltered in Cagliari, only 130 miles ahead of us.
