We're surrounded by a lot of shipping as we round the north-eastern corner
of Tunisia this evening - nice to have company after a few days of seeing
nothing at all!
After an unsuccessful day's fishing (we've been going a bit too fast
really), we've pretty much run out of decent food on board. What we have
left seems to be full of sugar, which is having some amusing effects on an
already delirous crew! Don't worry folks - we were never in any danger of
starving, as we have hundreds of Wayfarer boil-in-the-bag meals on board,
although these are packed away ready for the Middle Sea Race and our race
across the Atlantic.
We're going to stop on a small island called Pantelleria, which we should
reach at about sunrise tomorrow. We only plan to be there long enough to
grab a few bits of food, and hopefully a shower! If we leave there tomorrow
afternoon then it helps us to guarantee arriving in Malta at a sensible
(daylight) time on Saturday which makes custom's formalities much more
straightforward.
