for Fremantle. A passage of some 4800 miles which we think will take about
35 days. We have had a great start with NW winds, and Koopy assures us that
the next week will be all from behind and 15-30 knots so that is excellent.
We have a change of crew for this passage. Karyn and Rog have gone home and
have been replaced with Peter Long (British), Bill Oakes (Aussie) and Ian
McCullough (Aussie). Peter has had a long association with Old Nick having
done a transatlantic with us back in 1990. Bill has done some sailing on Old
Nick, crossing the North Sea to bring the boat back from the Netherlands and
cruising around the Scottish Western Isles and Northern Ireland. Ian is
looking forward to his first passage on Old Nick - what a leg to start with!
