Not
much wind to Lisbon
The passage from Porto to Lisbon was an easy run of
160 miles down the Portuguese coast. Steve joined us in Porto on the Tuesday
afternoon and we left in the early evening. I cooked up my old favourite chicken
casserole which everyone enjoyed, although Steve decided to take a closer look
at it as the sun set. It wasn't long before Steve got his sea legs though and
after a good sleep enjoyed the rest of the trip down to Lisbon.
Pete and I had a few games of backgammon and Pete had the usual
whinge about my lucky dice throwing but the final scoreline of 5-3 to the
skipper left no doubt as to who was the champion. Pete was on a losing
streak as Karyn and I defeated Steve and Pete in a series of games of pool in
Lisbon.
On this passage we hoisted the spinnaker for a few hours before the winds
died completely. It flew very well and we are looking forward to flying it
again.
We stayed in Cascais, which is a suburb of Lisbon but on the outskirts. The
showers were excellent.
