ARC Day 11 - Whale Watching - 18:18 N 36:27 W

Hello from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!

The winds picked up mid-day today which permitted Neki to make good speed
with very comfortable seas - we did not have to hold on for dear life to
make 9 knots (Yeah!). We are all finally getting over the rough weather
from a few days ago. Mike once again has been feeding us well. The
highlight for today, besides the wind and Mike's food, was the sighting of a
group (Pod?) of whales about 130 yards off of our port beam. We didn't get
close enough to see their backs, but we did see a constant trail of blow
hole plumes. The moon didn't come out last night, but in its place was
every star in the galaxy. Quite beautiful and a bit humbling. We haven't
seen another boat in a few days now so truly feel like we are in the middle
of the ocean! We probably will be at sea for another six days (maybe more)
unless we hit the trade winds sooner than anticipated. Well that is all
from Neki for today. Everyone take care.
