Today has been a great day of sailing. It started last night as the we beam
reached in a comfortable 12 - 15 knots of wind. As we moved into a large
squall the wind picked up significantly. We had up to 28 knots of breeze as
the rain began coming down. It poured but the wind continued to blow in the
correct direction as we consistently hit over 10 knots of boat speed. This
continued into the night. Today the wind shifted more to the West but we
have been beating into the wind all day. We all keep asking; "Isn't this
supposed to be a downwind race?" We have been on a Port Tack sailing up wind
for at least 5 days! The weather looks like it will turn more towards a
downwind finish so we are all looking forward to that!

Some of us have taken a beating during the rough weather and all of us could
use a good shave!
