THANKSGIVING! After a becalmed day we had a good day of sailing it was nice
to put some miles under the keel. We were close the Beneteau "Fred" for most
of the day. An ARC yacht spotted an abandoned catamaran that was demisted.
They reported it to the ARC Race control. It appeared to empty and had been
adrift for some time.

Mike and Tater cooked a superb Thanksgiving Day meal. It was almost a
traditional meal but provisioning in Las Palmas denied us some of the
traditional meal staples. We had an 8lb Turkey cooked in the oven, homemade
stuffing, roasted carrots, potatoes, celery and garlic, corn on the cob, hot
bread and wine. The weather lightened up in the afternoon so we had a nice
peaceful dinner in the cockpit. We had to do without cranberry sauce and
pumpkin pie! It looks like Senior was excited to dig into the bird!

Everyone was thankful for the loved ones back home and although there was a
feeling of camaraderie among the crew there was also a longing for our
families back ashore. Everyone did call their loved ones so at least we got
to hear their voices.

Went to bed with the wind up and the boat beating upwind at 9 - 10 knots.
