This s what Caribbean sailing is all about...Big
moon rising last night, 15-20k winds from the NE and we are heading 195 degrees
so a lovely broad reach. Full sun and medium waves are making for a lovely sail.
Everyone wants to be in the cockpit in this weather. We are in the lead by a few
miles but we are all fairly tightly clustered, almost in VHF range bu still
checking in with each other twice a day. Only issue onboard is energy
management. Since we are not using the engine I am running the generator twice a
day for an hour or so, to run the fridge/freezer, autopilot, lights and
instruments. Anyone want to buy some diesel as we will have lots left over.
Speed is averaging 8-9 knots with burst of 10+. ETA narrowing into tomorrow
afternoon in Sopers Hole assuming wind remains as is. We will clear in and then
head to our winter base in Nanny Cay for cleaning, us and boat, and reuniting
with friends there. Can't wait. I can already taste the G & T
and Austin and Jim have reserved the Gosling's rum and ginger beer for a
Dark & Stormy....
