21:51.0N 18:34.1W Even though the hot climate of Africa is our nearest land
mass, it is still chilly on deck. Nic assures us that it will soon become warmer
as the winds are due to come from the North and the Sahara desert. It has been a relatively quiet and perhaps slow day as we
are not only waiting for warmer winds but faster ones that will fill the sails
and allow us to make more noticeable progress across the Atlantic. It was Tim’s birthday today, he received a few
presents and cards this morning and his present to himself was catching the
first fish of the journey, a blue fin tuna. He is at pains to stress that the
picture below does not do his catch justice and that surely the fish was much
bigger than the picture shows! We saw quite a spectacle this morning as a school of at
least 200 dolphins swam past us at speed. Normally they ‘play’ with
the boat, jumping in and out of the bow waves but these showed little interest
in us as if they were on the hunt or even being hunted. They were jumping out
of the water to such heights and it was such a sight to see that none of
thought to get our cameras until it was too late and they were gone. Sarah, as always, excelled and produced a lemon drizzle
birthday cake for afternoon tea, what a girl. BGAN Phone: +870 773 152 730 www.yacht-magrathea.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4707 (20091221) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |
