No port on Sunday

Chsalonina - Chizol
Chizol has now been sold to sail around again
Sat 8 Jan 2011 19:16
We are now tacking NW and hopefully north for the last time before the wind changes and we are able to head westwards for Gaulle

Our current position is 06:18n 083:10e the seas are very large in squalls and we hit 35kts about an hour ago and 2 big waves hit us and we crashed off of them - it is dark and all appears well except I see in the torch light the starboard lower shroud is slack - a little too slack - we are on a port tack so I would expect some softness

There are 3 leaks - the forehatch but where - it is not a great deal but when you have several tons of water on the deck some will come in the 2 cowls under extreme water leak a little and the troublesome port forward window has a few drops only

We have some 180nm to run in a straight line and I hope to make port early on Monday morning and if so and can clear customs go to Colombo stay overnight and meet Philip on Tuesday morning - see a little of the city before returning to Gaulle with the 4 hour plus car ride - I intend to hire a car and driver
