Title: A quite night in the Southern Pacific Ocean

Our position is 08:11s 117:07w and we are sailing at 6kts. The Equatorial Current that runs East to West is not as prominent at the moment say under half a knot where as when we left Galapagos it was running up to 2kts - a major helping hand

It has just rained hard and the pattern for the wind to drop from 15kts to under 5kts whilst raining and then pick up and back - southern hemisphere?

Anyway we have changed course to 230 from 266 for a while until the wind and rain settles

We have now about 1300nm to run before Marquesas

We had  box of chocolate Hagen Das Ice-cream yesterday as we were more than 1000nm from any land!
