Hi All...
Its now 2nd of December and we have celebrated
"första advent" onboard, which did'nt take long as was we did'nt
have any candles!
For the last couple of days there has been very
little wind, so the sailing has been difficult with a lot of sail changes and
combinations,
yesterday evening we gave up and started the engine
for the first time in 6 days.
We motored through the night and started sailing
again early this morning, but theres still not much wind.
Yesterday Mats was back in the kitchen after a
short illness, and made a really nice dinner (ungsstekt fläskfilé stekt
grönsaker +pommes)
which we finished off with our last bottle of
decent wine:-( which means only whisky
from now on..and the odd glass of bubbly for special occasions:-)
Bosse pulled up a really ugly fish with big sharp
teeth, (it looked something like a Barracuda) and we had to use a pair of
pliers to remove the hook,
it looked more like it would eat us than the
other way around so we threw it straight back!
We've had the company of dolphins during the day
and the odd flying fish landing on the deck at night, you can hear them and
sometimes see them flying into the side of the boat and bouncing off
the foresail at night!
We're now well into our routines on board (tonight
its Bosse's turn to be the girl) (I've just changed that to Mats as hes baked a
"morotskaka" to the coffee) and the time goes quite quickly,
yesterday was really hot, more than +30 both inside
and outside the boat, the water is 25+ so dos'nt
really cool you down, and we can only have a quick dip when the boats not
moving, which is'nt very often.
So we're really happy that we have our watermaker
and are able to take showers with fresh water!
Today is cloudy and a bit cooler, I've just had a quick break for lunch, pizza and juice, and
then a dip in the sea.. we've taken the sails down again and started the engine
again as theres next to no wind.
While its quiet we are going to put some protective
dacron tape on the mainsail to stop it chafing against the spreaders, and do a
bit of maintainence.
I'll sign off now as its "fika" time!!
