As we sit down below (warm and dry) the wind howls at 35-40 knots with
plently of green and white water washing over the decks. The wind changed
from SW to NW as the cold front went through 2 nights ago but no let up
since. Thankfully we are still making progress at 4 knots with only our
storm jib as power. The last update suggested that we could expect winds to
die down this evening and have light winds for our last 280 miles to Horta.
The Atlantic has certainly turned it on for us for this passage with 4 gales
since Bermuda so far - perhaps we shouldn't have moaned about the light
winds on the way across.

We celebrated Easter in true Cadbury style this morning thanks to prepacked
eggs from Gill, Ben and Rosie on the IOW and this has negated the need for
porridge (which nobody wanted to cook anyway). Teg says she can only eat 1
cream egg at a time but we all know that's a lie.

As I write we are listening to the BBC World Service and with news about
Iraq, SARS and other world news it doesn't seem all that bad here in the
wind!

Still hoping for a sub 14 day passage and then a significant rest in the
Azores! Andrew says if there isn't a curry house he's going to open one.
