Nearly got dismasted last night thanks to some bloke with a white beard and
red coat trying to squeeze a bloody reindeer down through the already broken
mastheadlight fitting. In the end he was put off by the smell of fermenting
red cabbage so he went on his merry way. He did manage to leave a few peace
offerings however. He was obviously attracted by Teg's superb christmas
decorations.

Teg promised she would learn a christmas carol on the harmonica but has let
me down badly.

Started the day with a salt water dousing in the cockpit which was swiftly
followed by tea, OJ, champagne, scrambled eggs (with freshly baked bread
from Teg), serrano ham and fresh coffee. Now what shall we do?

Tuning in to the Queens speech on the world service is obvioulsy a priority
and then back to my 10th book of the trip so far.

Sailing is fantastic for the last 3 days with consistent 12-20 knots of ENE
pushing us at 6-7 knots. Now have 499 miles to run and just hope the wind
stays.

Am preparing some pics to post once we hit land.

I feel a bit of a nap coming on.....
