43:55.82N 008:56.45W Busy day out there. We are expecting to spot land in the next 4 or 5 hours but we wont be stopping.
Pilot Wale wiffled its tulgey way northwards as we headed south about 3 yards from the boat. Luckily we crossed paths without actually meeting. We have been surrounded by dolphins as well leading to a mad scramble for the pointed end by crew with cameras. Funny, as I was watching them leaning over the rails two thoughts went through my mind: Primark sell a lot of underwear and I couldn't remember if I'd had all the lock pins holding the railings serviced. Seems I must have.
My washing is flying gracefully off the aft rail including my single sock. A debate has arisen as to where the other one is. Steve is fishing for mackerel of the back. I told him that unless he was going for the olympic sprinter class, he had no chance, We are doing nearly 6 knots...mackerel get out of breath at that speed. According my personal trainer I get out of breath at half that speed, so I'm not having a go at the Mackerel. Dinner due very shortly....curious to see what the offering really is....still concerned that tweety has not been spotted today. Last time in Gib two years ago we were not overly welcomed as we entered Marina Bay flying the spanish flag. My comment that they all look the same to HM Customs man didn't even raise a smile. Have been rummaging in the ship's bowels this afternoon trying to find the right flag. Ended up with the St Kitts one but I don't think anyone will notice....and even if they do I'm sure Gibraltar and St Kitts aren't at war.
Bed beginning to pong a bit so might try the sad brown eyed look tomorrow on Jill and ask her to show me how bed-sheets are washed for future reference. It never fails. Pretend to give a damn and you can get away with anything. Nearly got lynched this afternoon for playing all the classical music mentioned in Fifty Shades. They weren't sailing to it though in the book. In the end had to settle for Pink Floyd 'Wish You were Here' at great volume. Anyway, we will pass the 500 mile mark: Jill suggested a celebratory jug of Vimto....it will of course be Pimms. Trouble is it brings a lump to my throat when I think of Pimms and Tweety yesterday afternoon, and he won't be here to share it. How cruel is nature.
