Well, as you know, the plan was to make the less-than-epic
voyage down the coast to Bayonne
and theoretically, I should be there now. I’m not. I had noticed even
before leaving Portsmouth
that the engine was very smoky and made a mental note to have it checked. As I
prepared to leave for Bayonne
yesterday, the engine failed to start so I’m going to take the
opportunity while I’m here on a pontoon to have it sorted out
professionally. I’ve made good friends here already and I’ve just
heard that John’s friend Stephan can come and take a look tomorrow at
1000hrs.
If he can fix it then, I’ll get away on tomorrow
afternoon’s high tide heading straight for what I expect will be a very
brief stop at Bayonne.
I’m really anxious to get going though so I may start adding a couple
more long-distance options to the next dice choices.
So for now, sorry but the voyage has been temporarily interrupted
although, to be honest, I’m not in any hurry and there are worse places
to be involuntarily detained!
