This high needs to do one!
Position: 37:55N 021:53W Good morning! Just changed the ships clock so its 1130 here now.
We had 13 knots of SW wind yesterday and decided to do some
sailing with the main and code 0....not the quickest progress
running with the wind with 7 knots apparent and doing 5/6 knots
SOG but sailing all the same and nice to get the engine off. It
also offered quite a peacefull night and everyone had a good
sleep. As per forecast the wind has started to shift North and is
currently blowing NW (directly aft of our intended course) so to
keep on time for and ETA on the 18th we're back on the engine
until the wind shifts NW which its meant to over the next 24
hours. Hopefully then we'll get some good sailing done all the way
into Gibraltar. We caught a small tuna this morning too! Nothing big and this is
probably due the fact they've had off with all our big lures.
They've really whopped our ass on this crossing! I didn't mention
the number of Portugese Man O' Wars in the water on this crossing
either til now. There must be billions out there. You see the
sails on them passing by the boat constantly....nasty
buggers...the last thing you'd need if you went MOB! That's it for now...and I just realised with we hadn't taken any pictures over the last day so here's one one at the chart table now...Tomato's in the background! Shalan out |
