Ahoy there,

It's 21:38pm here aboard the good yacht Shalan. We've now been at sea for almost 34 hours and are seeing fewer and fewer boats during the day and night.

Weather wise, the wind has been disppointing most of the day we got a high of around 10.4 knots this morning but has sinced dipped to a distinctly average 5 knots. Weather update 2, and maybe more importantly the team tan hasn't wildly improved either: some bright spells but a bit grey mostly...

This afternoon we were joined momentarily by a 'collective noun' of dolphins/whales (the jury is still out on both the type of creature and collective noun), off the port side. We tried to attract them by clapping and recreating mating calls but our efforts were in vain as they ignored us and swam past.

As you'll see from the attachment, we had the most amazing sunset this evening, the colours changed almost every second - the attached is the pick of the bunch and we'll happily enter into negotations with Benetau for the rights to use this in future advertising.

We're still fishless as we've yet to get a bite from the rods, we're currently undertaking a spot of night fishing but won't hold our breathe... Keep your fingers crossed for us! We all agreed that it's a good job we weren't relying on catching our dinner! Instead, we ate outside under a canopy of stars (through the momentarily break in cloud) and enjoyed a fantstic chicken and rice dish cooked and served by Eric. Eric has cooked for the past 2 nights and has set the bar pretty high! I think it's Andy's turn tomorrow so our expectations may have to be lowered a few notches.

Post dinner update:
Weather remains calm, true wind speed of only 4 knots so far this evening meaning the boat is fairly level for now so the majority of us are taking advantage of this and are below playing 'Project Cars' on the PS4... We've all 10 minutes to record the fastest lap around Spa!? The remainder are on deck blowing into the sales - Gaetan said this would work?!

I'm looking forward to a bit of a nap and then back on deck for the graveyard 2am until 5am shift...

We'll update further tomorrow.

Oli
