Not sure the gribs work around here

Yesterday we had an un-forecast wind that had us close hauled making 055' towards the West coast of Africa. This was fine as we were making 6-7 knts over the ground & taking us to where we wanted to go at around 5knts. This died away last night around 11pm and we've been motored ever since.

So far the gribs have not really had much bearing on what the wind has been doing since just before the equator. The forecast was for hardly any wind but until today we've had some reasonable winds & hence sailing.

The plan now is to get to within 100 miles of Africa near Guinea and then pick up the NE trade winds, where we will sail across to Cape Verde islands. Sounds easy.........

Taking advantage of the motoring, today is wash day. 3 loads of washing done in the washing machine and most of it dry already. It's all go this sailing lark.
