All the communications systems are working well with the Iridium Satellite phone & the SSB radion both accessing email & gribs which give us weather information.
We've all settled into our watch system of 3 hours on & 9 off overnight, & then 2 on & 6 off during the day, with 2 one hour watches at 16.00 - 18.00.
So, fishing, I gave up with the rod & went for the 100lb nylon line with a squid like lure on the end. This simply drags through the water about 50 mtrs behind the boat. The line is secured to the boat on a cleat & has a bit of bungy cord tying down the line which stretches if a fish bites. Well a Marhe Marhe bit! It was around 65cm long & with a team effort we landed it. Success!
We used very cheap gin from Gibraltar to kill/subdue the fish before we filleted it. We've still got a way to go before we master filleting but not bad for a first attempt. Tonight's supper was Marhe Marhe Green Thai curry. Very good............ The chicken will have to wait till tomorrow :-)
