Several landmarks all in one day! 1. We cross
into the Tropics over the Tropic of Cancer. Weather not tropical as Andy gets
his oilies out for the evening watches. 2. From 6 am Tuesday to Wednesday we
cover 212 miles in a day. Matt setting watch record of 28 miles equalled by
Jack. 3. Ben has a shower over the stern. 4. 700 miles covered in 4 days since
start on Saturday.
Wednesday morning starts off eventfully as just as
Paul and Ben's watch ends the spinnaker halyard breaks. Prompt action gets
spinnaker back on board. Matt goes up the mast to replace rigging. See photo of
his feet. Operation succesfull!and again running under spinnaker by
11:30.
Flying fish much in evidence, but not yet on board.
Question, what do you call a collection of flying fish on the wing, a flock, a
squadron or.....?
Fishing still not mastered. Lost fish and lure when
reeling in, also couple of bites which came off the hook.
Hope to be moving through the fleet by end of
day.
