Our current position is at Denarau Marina – berth 32 or 17:46.36S 177:22.95E
After Mal left us at Nananu I Thake we spent another week kiting with the
Whistlers at Kite Point.
Most days we had plenty of wind as you can tell from the photos down to
light winds on the day before we left when Di enjoyed some kiting on the 12mt
kite in lovely calm conditions.
Big thanks to Margy from Whistler for the photos and also the videos she
took of our kiting adventures.

After a wonderful time at Nananu I Thake it was time to depart on the
morning of Tuesday 10th July as we are due in at Denarau Marina on the 12th to
pick up our next guest Amanda who arrives very early on Friday the 13th.
We had a lovely calm trip around to our Vatia Resort where we spent the
first night.
As is the way when we are motoring we put out all the fishing gear and were
not having much luck but just as we were rounding the corner to our anchorage
spot we were lucky enough to get a reasonable sized Spanish Mackerel hook up on
the hand line equipped with our new ‘popper ‘lure that Mal purchased for us
after losing all our lures earlier in the season. This time we did a good
job and got the fish landed quick smart. Unfortunately we didn’t have lot
of fresh vege’s etc on board but the fish did make a lovely fish curry with a
lovely sushi starter.
On the 11th we motored around to Benaka Island which is just off Lautoka
and had another calm night on board and enjoyed the last of the fish curry
.
We were up and on our way early on the 12th as it was to be a busy day
ahead. First we dropped into Vuda Marina to restock with hydrocarbons aka
diesel and unleaded and were then on our way to Denarau. The rest of the
afternoon was spent getting on with some boat jobs which includes replacing our
wind generator. Luckily we have been carrying a spare around with us
thanks to Rick.
We have had a lovely few days at Denarau doing all things resort world
including some provisioning, walking around the resorts, enjoying some meals off
the boat and today we are going up to the RhumBa for lunch.
The plan is to head out tomorrow although we still have to finish off the
wind generator installation and do some provisioning at the market and the
Aussie butchers.
Mark is currently in one of cupboards re-connecting the regulator for the
wind generator – not sure that he is entirely enjoying the experience
