We've spent the last couple of days anchored off a little island called Nananu-i-Ra, just off the coast of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu.  It feels bizarrely like we've gatecrashed a traditional beach holiday.  The (very picturesque) island is mainly run by ex-pats, and there are several families staying here who've come up from New Zealand for the 17th year in a row (at least).  It feels a bit like Rock in Cornwall, or Tenby in Wales, albeit on a smaller scale, and with more palm trees.  Today it even drizzled for most of the morning, while we paddled around in rock pools waiting for the breeze - how very British!

Needless to say, the reason we are here is that we heard it was a good kitesurfing spot.  I've managed to get some kiting in both days, but the trade winds aren't really playing at the moment.  So, tomorrow, we're going to continue our westward journey across Fiji to arrive in the city of Lautoka on Monday morning, where we can prepare for the voyage on to Vanuatu.  We're currently planning on leaving Fiji late next week.

PS.  Our new found fishing prowess continues to reap scaley rewards: we caught a big Grand Trevally (or at least that's what we think it is) on our approach to the island here.  We've eaten little else since, despite Rach's shrieks when she found a parasite in one of the fillets...
