Our time in and around
Brisbane continued, firstly with a more academic bent:
 We had to get dressed up
in silly clothes (any excuse... I know...)...
 so that Professor How(?)
could take us to his laboratory and show us his diminutive friends with their
ingeniously overdeveloped eyes....
 "I wish you'd tell that
pommy professor friend of yours to stop teasing me with different colours boxes
everytime I want a decent feed," this particular manta shrimp
pleaded.
 Then we took to the open
road for a 5 day bike ride around the mountains and lush countryside to the
south of Brisbane.
 We were riding 70 - 80
km a day, which included some rather long uphills...
 ...some hippy
communes...
 ...some true Aussie
pies...
 ...some very out of the
way farming communities...
 ....just the one lift in
a Ute...
 ...some beautiful
rainforest...
 ... and some very fun
downhills.
 "Nah, there doesn't seem
that much of a hurry really..."
