The part we were waiting for finally arrived, so we
could leave La Playita (Panama City) and motorsail 35 nm to Contadora, one
of the first islands in the Las Perlas.
The trip down here gave us a foretaste of what's to
come, we cought a fish we've never seen before and at it for lunch and 2 big
tunas. We put the biggest one in the freezer and put the second one on the BBQ
and ate it for dinner.
The last night was finished off with a few beers
and a round of Munchkin.
After a good nights sleep, we finished off changing
the wire on the foretriangle. Now Martin, JAcob and Elisabeth are out for a
surf, while Topi is bouldering close to the beach. I'm getting everything set up
so that we can receive weather updates while at sea and hopefully also be able
to update this Diary while we are at sea. The idea is that we use this as the
updater while we are at sea and then we update our blogs when we get into port,
with pretty pictures and more detailed descriptions.
Now I want to head off and enjoy the waters.
The freediving here looks very promising and both
Martin and I are looking forward to taking our spearguns for a spin. Though our
freezer is nearly full to the seams with meat for the pacific, there is always
room for some tasty fish.
Our adventure has started in earnest.
