03 November
Today has been the brightest day of our voyage so
far with dazzling sun and daytime temperature of around 25C. Unusually there was
no wind from around 06:00 as we cleared through the passage to the West of
Crete. There was plenty to keep our day busy as we attempted to fault find the
reason why our mast head tricolour LED was not working. We have power going out
to this so it looks like a trip to the masthead will be required soon! We also
rigged up and hoisted our new 30knot Gennaker which is made out of 2.5%
sailcloth. This is now ready for use and we have 20knots forecast from the SE
tomorrow which will be ideal for this sail. So a nice comfortable day on board
following a much lumpier day yesterday. We also had a visit from a pod of around
10 dolphins, Richard took a video of them swimming in our bow wave which looked
great On our current rate of progress we should arrive at Malta on the
afternoon of 05 November.
