15/3/19 For some reason the last set of photos went on the Sopers Hole page. When they should have been on the Charlotte Amalie page. My fault for trying to catch up big time on my blog and messing up. Charlotte Amelie is where Blackbeard’s Castle is and some areas are very pretty with lovely architecture and the old ware houses are turned into a shopping (mainly jewellery) precinct with lovely little lanes between with various houses and stores built using bricks from all over the world which were used as ballast by trading ships back in the 16 and 17 Century. They appear to have stood up well to all the hurricanes which have hit the islands whereas the more modern and clapperboard buildings have not. Jonathan was able to watch the rugby on Saturday 16/3/19 and came away disappointed as England had not won the world cup but come second. We found a restaurant specialising in crab that evening which cheered him up called ‘Cravin Crabs’ soft shell crab to start with then snow crab. . ![]() |
