The wind turned more from the East rather than south-east. We have
goose-winged the genoa and small gib' for the last two days. During the
night the winds dropped a bit and we were heading too far north, so this morning
we have gone back to main and large genoa. The wind has since got up,
despite the weather report saying that winds were dissipating, we are crashing
along at about 9 - 9.5 knots in 20 -25 knots of wind, a rough sea
coming in from the south east.
The last of the Blue Fin Tuna will be eaten tonight, (had Sate chicken
sticks last night with sate sauce and gado-gado salad)
Chocolate cake turned out well and enjoyed by 'the boys'. We are all
taking turns with breakfast and lunch which is good, especially as I am doing
night watches as well. I always do dinner, partly because I enjoy finding
interesting ways of cooking the food. Breakfast every morning has been a
tropical fruit salad, made with papaya, pinapple, pomellos, passion fruit,
apples and melon served with plain yogurt and musili for those who want
it. All we have left now are two large water melons (they keep very well),
some pomellos and apples. Some of the apples are in the grab-bag along
with unsalted almonds and other energy food. Gave the fridge a good clean
out today and checked all the salad, veg, meats and cheeses in there, the veg
keep very well in the lakeland green bags. I am banned from the galley at
the moment as the Allan and Charles are washing up, unfortunately a pyrex dish
bounced out of a cupboard the second in a week! must get a bungee put across for
such rough occasions. Allan made the most amazing salad yesterday for lunch with
alsorts of things he found in the fridge for it. Must tell Mary he is VERY
capable of preparing lunch she will be delighted!
With luck we will be in the Marquesas by this time next week, but you
never what is around the corner.
