We have been motoring in light following winds since 09:20. We are expecting to get a good sailing wind at some point during the day tomorrow to take us the last 24 hours or so into Dingle under sail. We expect to arrive into Dingle by Saturday end of day, and we have arranged a berth with the harbourmaster via email. Now to figure out a nice restaurant for dinner ashore — a bit hard without the benefit of a proper internet connection!

Today Skip took advantage of the benign conditions to fly his drone twice, and we got some nice photos and videos of Yuva. While we were doing that, I spotted a small shark just to port of the boat. He turned away with a flick of his tail and was quickly gone.

It was another great sunset this evening. Peri and I are on watch until midnight, which is about half an hour from now based on ship’s time, as we are on GMT/UT until we arrive in Dingle, at which time we will add an hour for Irish summer time (same as British Summer Time). We will rest for four hours while Grethe and Skip are on watch, and we will then be back on for the 0400 to 0800 watch.

About 20 minutes ago we saw lights in the distance and had our first sight of a vessel in 4 days. By his lights he appeared to be on an easterly course. We confirmed this by radar, and then by checking on AIS we identified him as Maersk Missouri, a 958ft container ship bound for Antwerp, travelling at 16.7kt on a heading of 092 degrees. He crossed ahead of us at a distance of 12M about 10 minutes ago.

Now to check the updated text weather forecast and get updated grib files.

Greetings as always to our followers ashore. All aboard are well, as is the boat :-)
