We did some final provisioning from the lagoon, and then exited via the French lift bridge on Monday afternoon, to lie at anchor overnight in Marigot Bay. It was very calm, virtually wind-free and with no swell working round the headland, so a quiet night was had.

In the morning, we awoke to a still anchorage, with a disappointing forecast for the next few days – very light winds from the east for the week, with perhaps a little more puff on Thursday but easing again to the weekend. With a plan to sail to the British Virgin Isles this week, this does not augur well!

We motored across to Anguilla, having filled the port diesel tank at the quay (we always try to fill up port and starboard at different places, to minimise the risk of contaminating both tanks at once). A passage of about 15 miles, we took the opportunity to make water and start the laundry process since the washing basket was bulging a bit.

We will be praying to the wind gods for something better than 10 knots from the east tomorrow night……
