This is just a quick post to say that we scraped in this morning to a nice little marina at Lajes on Flores. Last night was a wild one, winds gusting to 40 knots and seas that were breaking behind us and occasionally dumping one in the cockpit. We doubled up on the watch where sensible, but the triple reefed main and alternate gybes downwind did the trick.

The entry was exciting, turning back upwind to douse the sail in the entrance but the shelter from the new breakwater provided some shelter. Greeted by a lovely young man who had excellent English, and runs the marina, we completed entry procedures with him and the customs guys who were sat in their car – apparently they only look after boat arrivals so are bored to death.

Now a wash, and to bed…..

Thanks all,
