At last, the day has arrived and tomorrow, Sunday 7th November 2021 we leave the marina in Las Palmas and head out across the Atlantic to Mindelo, Cape Verde with 80 or so other boats!
860 nautical miles, wind behind, approx 6 days possibly quicker if the winds stay as they are, currently forecasted in the mid twenties.
It’s been a busy few weeks since we arrived here in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria that my blogging has been rather non-existent!
Gran Canaria has surprised us! First and foremost was the ‘surprise visit’ from Andrew’s sister Carol, husband Tony, their daughter Charlie and husband Nick and their cutie-pie son Rue-bear xx Rue is his name :)
Jamie, Andrew’s son is also here which has been fantastic. Jamie very kindly offered to travel out to see us and bring a suitcase full of spares and bits n’pieces we needed ahead of our Atlantic crossing. Mainly spare parts but also loose leaf tea!!
So, as it’s late here (2330) and to catch up on what has been an mind-blowing few weeks, below are a few nightlights in pictures.
Gran Canaria is an incredible place once you move away from the package holiday areas. It has surprised us and may well surprise you so we hope you enjoy our collage of pictures below! Sometimes pictures can be larger and more powerful than words …
