Mike, John and I have continued to clean and unpack Umiak over the last two days and have managed to load Mikes car to the gunwales and we are awaiting Pam’s arrival to be able to load up a second car! Several admiring and inquisitive glances from other boat owners have been made, as we have paraded along the pontoons armed with skis, food supplies (unbelievable that we haven’t managed to eat it all, especially considering that we had Gringo and Olly aboard) rucksacks, ropes, and 4m bamboo poles!

In unpacking and cleaning up, John and I have had a real close up view of the amount of planning, shopping, loading, driving between Lorton and Ardfern, unloading, sorting, carrying, storing, stowing, lugging, carting, heaving, lowering, bagging up, labelling, remembering, organising, communicating with all of us…. and so it goes on, that Mike had had to do in order to set sail from Scotland on the 7th July. Just unbelievable.

The rest of us have just turned up with a bag of kit and made ourselves at home, eaten, drunk and had a FANTASTIC time, as part of a highly skilled and ‘fun to be with’ top team. I loved getting to know you all, learning new skills and sharing adventures and laughter together; a very special group of people.
I’m echoing Gringo’s words, and would like to thank Mike (and Pam for her invaluable support behind the scenes) for the incredible amount of thought, time, expense, care and effort in making this Greenland’25 trip such a successful and enjoyable experience. It’s been AMAZING; thank you so much Mike; where and when are we going next?
