The morning after our mountain we headed to Tasilaq to refuel. The water was too low to get to the fuel pontoon so we shuttled our barrels in the dinghy. Then we headed to Kulusuk to drop Olly at the airport as he had a wedding to attend at the weekend. For Olly it all became a race against time as the airport was then fogged in for two days, but he did make it.

As we waited for Gringo to head back from dropping Gringo a black launch headed straight towards. On board was Tim who is currently guiding in Greenland with Pirhuk. A quick catch and off to our last anchorage.

We expected some rough weather at the beginning of the crossing and sure enough we got it. A confused sea of 4.5m waves and 30kts of wind on the nose gave us an interesting 15 hours!

Eventually the seas calmed, as did the wind and we ended up motoring to Reykjavik arriving in the dark at our usual berth. Karl had to leave us for a very early flight and we tidied up the boat and prepped her for the next leg.

We will set off later with a favourable forecast to start with, hopefully holding up at the end. Current plan is to make landfall at the north of the Outer Hebrides. Gringo is back off to Spain so Umiak will be quite empty with just Tracey and John on board.
